A First Aid orientation session was conducted on 21-02-2023 by Punjab Red Crescent Society at Kot Khawja Saeed Hospital for the staff of the hospital.

The participants were educated on the essential techniques required to provide First Aid in the event of an earthquake.
The session kicked off with a brief introduction to The RCRC movement and its history in providing support for humanitarian causes over the last 150 years. Moreover, participants were explained the primary objectives of first aid in earthquake situations, including stabilizing the injured person, preventing further harm, and obtaining medical assistance.
The session covered various topics, including assessing the severity of an injury, treating wounds, fractures, and dislocations, managing shock, and providing psychological support. Emphasis was given to the importance of safety measures while providing first aid, such as assessing the safety of the area before entering, wearing the appropriate gear, and practicing good hygiene. Participants were also given visual training on various techniques, such as immobilizing a broken limb, creating a splint, and bandaging a wound.
The session concluded with a discussion on emergency preparedness, emphasizing the importance of having a disaster preparedness plan, including an emergency kit with essential items, such as first aid supplies, food, and water.
Overall, the First Aid session was informative and practical, equipping participants with the knowledge and skills required to provide medical assistance during an earthquake emergency.
