Youth & Volunteer Department of Punjab Red Crescent Society arranged a meeting of “𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀” with NHQ Delegation and an awareness session about Red Crescent Society & Volunteerism on 23-02-2023 at Lady Emerson Hall, PRCS – PHQ. The total number of participants was 30.
Youth & Volunteer Officer, Punjab Red Crescent Society welcomed the participants and NHQ Delegation. The session kicked off with a brief introduction about the core areas and the field operations of Red Crescent Punjab & Volunteerism.
Moreover, Ms. Misbah Mushtaq (Deputy Director of Youth & Volunteer Pakistan Red Crescent), Ms. Rabail Haider (PMER Manager IFRC), and Mr. Muhammad Aftab Alam (Senior Officer-National Society Development IFRC) joined the session as delegates from Pakistan Red Crescent NHQ. Department Heads of First Aid, Restoring Family Links, Media and Communications and Internal Audit were also present in the meeting.
The main purpose of the meeting was to provide an opportunity for volunteers to discuss their essential roles in the community and share their experiences.
The delegation also provided them with some tips on how to effectively manage volunteers, shared information about the volunteering opportunities available for Volunteers, and discussed how we can work together as a team to improve our service delivery.
In addition, exposure visits of active volunteers, Awareness about the V-COMMUNITY APP, Briefing about Previous and Current Projects, Discussion about Youth Policy, and Guide Volunteers about International Opportunities were also discussed in the meeting.
In the end, the NHQ delegation also visited the Regional Blood Donation Center (RBDC), Punjab Red Crescent Society, and appreciated the state-of-the-art facilities for blood testing and donations.
