PRCS Completes Second Field Visit to District Sahiwal with NHQ and ICRC Delegation

The Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) successfully completed its second visit to District Sahiwal today, accompanied by a delegation from PRCS National Headquarters (NHQ) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

The visit focused on strengthening community engagement and promoting awareness about humanitarian services, with the following key activities carried out:

  1. Introduction to PRCS: Community members were briefed on the mission, mandate, and services of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society.

  2. Overview of RFL Services: Participants were introduced to the Restoring Family Links (RFL) program, which helps reconnect families separated by conflict, disaster, or migration.

  3. Introduction to ICRC: The role and humanitarian work of the International Committee of the Red Cross were shared to enhance understanding and visibility of ICRC’s collaboration with PRCS.

  4. Collection of Allegations of Detention: Relevant information regarding allegations of detention was gathered for follow-up through appropriate humanitarian channels.

  5. Receipt of Red Cross Messages (RCM): RCMs were collected to support efforts in family tracing and communication restoration.

  6. Meeting with Beneficiaries: The team engaged directly with beneficiaries to better understand local needs and the impact of ongoing humanitarian programs.

This visit reaffirmed PRCS’s dedication to humanitarian outreach and reinforced cooperation with ICRC and NHQ teams to serve vulnerable populations across Punjab.
