PRCS Hosts RFL Review and Planning Meeting at National Headquarters

The Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) National Headquarters, Islamabad, hosted the first day of the Restoring Family Links (RFL) Review and Planning Meeting on 03 February 2026, bringing together key RFL stakeholders from across the country along with representatives from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

The meeting was attended by a three-member ICRC delegation, Deputy Director RFL and NHQ RFL Team, RFL Managers from Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, and Merged Districts, as well as members of the NHQ Media Team.

The session focused on reviewing the annual progress of RFL activities for the year 2025 and outlining strategic priorities for 2026. Provincial and regional branches presented detailed overviews of their performance, operational challenges, and key achievements.

During the presentations, the RFL Manager Punjab highlighted the branch’s substantial progress in 2025, particularly its active role during the Pakistan–India conflict response and the Flood Emergency Response, which remained major operational priorities throughout the year. The Punjab Branch was recognized for managing a significant caseload, including the collection of new Tracing Requests (TRs), delivery of Red Cross Messages (RCMs), and conducting extensive media coverage and community awareness sessions to promote RFL services.

While appreciating the operational achievements, the RFL Manager Punjab emphasized the need for timely financial disbursement, requesting the early release of the 15% allocated budget for 2026 to ensure the smooth continuation of RFL-funded activities across branches.

The first day concluded with closing remarks by the Secretary General PRCS and the Head of Protection & Finance Department, who assured participants that fund transfer mechanisms would be streamlined to ensure uninterrupted RFL operations in 2026.

The meeting served as an important platform for coordination, reflection, and forward planning, reaffirming the joint commitment of PRCS and ICRC to strengthening Restoring Family Links services nationwide.
