Pakistan Red Crescent Punjab Branch, with Support of German Red Cross, Strengthens Community Preparedness

Pakistan Red Crescent Punjab Branch, with the support of the German Red Cross, carried out multiple disaster risk reduction activities today to enhance community resilience.

  • Community Disaster Response Teams (CDRTs) were formed in Village Jariyan Wala, Tehsil Muzaffargarh, comprising 30 members (23 men and 7 women), and in Village Seheni Miyani, Tehsil Jalalpur, comprising 25 members (20 men and 5 women).

  • Evacuation Plans were developed for Village Sarki (Tehsil Alipur), Village Doday Wala (Tehsil DG Khan), and Village Lal Baksh (Tehsil Rajanpur) to ensure timely and organized community response in case of emergencies.

  • Additionally, trained CDRT members actively disseminated information on climate change by pasting IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) materials at various key locations within their respective communities.

These initiatives aim to build safer, better-prepared communities capable of responding effectively to disasters and the growing challenges posed by climate change.
