PRCS and DRMS Conduct Day One of Two-Day YABC Training at GCU Lahore

Lahore: The Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS), in collaboration with the Disaster Risk Management Society (DRMS) and Government College University (GCU), Lahore, successfully organized Day One of the two-day Youth as Agents of Behavioural Change (YABC) Training at the Youth Development Centre, GCU Lahore.

A total of 28 participants from diverse academic backgrounds took part in the training, including 19 female and 9 male students, reflecting strong youth engagement and gender representation.

The session was facilitated by Mudassar Habib Jami, Youth & Volunteer Officer, PRCS Punjab, who introduced participants to the core concept and objectives of the YABC programme. He highlighted the importance of promoting empathy, inclusion, non-violence, and positive behavioural change through interactive and experiential learning methodologies.

Day One commenced with an overview of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society, followed by a series of engaging and reflective activities, including Introduction Exercises, the Labeling Activity, and the “Give Up – The Tree Mirror” activity. These sessions were designed to encourage self-reflection, challenge stereotypes, and foster mutual understanding, respect, and social cohesion among participants.

The YABC training aims to equip young people with essential life skills, emotional awareness, and humanitarian values, enabling them to become proactive change-makers and contribute positively to their communities.
