ANTICIPATION AND HUMANITARIAN PREPAREDNESS PROJECT 2024-2025
The project will focus on highly vulnerable communities exposed to revering flooding in Indus River Basin. An estimated 92,602 individuals will be assisted directly and indirectly by proposed interventions.
Sector 1 – Humanitarian DRR
Develop/update community evacuation plans
Strengthen early warning mechanisms
Conduct simulation drills - schools & community
Community Disaster Response Teams (CDRTs) training & equipment.
National, Branch and District Disaster Response Teams (DRTs) training & equipment.
Roll out of enhanced Vulnerability and Capacity Assessment (e-VCA) at the national level.
Sector 2 – Anticipatory Action Follow up study on expanding FBF on riverine flooding.
Develop EAP for riverine flooding on the Indus River basin.
Training and equipment for PRCS staff, volunteers.
Integrating FbF/AA into NS tools and processes.
Engaging stakeholders including government for dialogues on AA.
Support National Dialogue Platform on AA
Sector 3 – Readiness / PER
Support PRCS monsoon flood contingency planning process
Support per-disaster meeting for monsoon flooding.
Capacity building of PRCS on identified response modalities
Digitalize response data collection, analysis and management, training and equipment.
Impact:
GRC and its sister National Societies provide high quality and context specific humanitarian assistance to people particularly affected by crisis and disaster.
