Lahore: Under the YOUR-CAP Project, the Punjab Provincial Branch of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society successfully established a Green Youth Club and conducted a Y-ADAPT Session at the University of Central Punjab, engaging 25 enthusiastic volunteers in climate action and environmental awareness activities.

The session was facilitated by professional volunteers Hafiza Asma and Khizra Moeen, who guided participants through interactive learning exercises focusing on climate change, local climate challenges, seasonal variations, adaptation planning, and the engaging Sinking Island activity.
During the My City, My Concern exercise, participants explored climate-related issues affecting different cities and discussed how environmental risks and vulnerabilities vary across communities. The activity encouraged youth to think critically about local climate challenges and identify context-specific solutions.

As part of the practical learning component, volunteers participated in a Waste Spotting Activity across the UCP campus. Participants identified waste hotspots and proposed practical measures to reduce waste generation through responsible daily practices and improved environmental stewardship.

The newly formed Green Youth Club will serve as a dedicated platform for youth-led climate action, environmental advocacy, and volunteer engagement under the YOUR-CAP Project. Through future activities and awareness campaigns, the club aims to empower young people to contribute actively to building climate-resilient and environmentally sustainable communities.
The initiative reflects PRCS Punjab’s continued commitment to engaging youth in climate adaptation, disaster risk reduction, and community-based environmental action.
